At the simplest it could be that the internal contacts on the external power input socket have not closed properly again after the power plug was removed, you could try (with camcorder upside down) giving a short squirt of electrical cleaning fluid into the socket and then "rapidly" pushing the external power connector in and out a few times, sometimes that will cause the contacts to close again.
