SONY DSC P10 FORMAT ERROR

Can someone pleas help, I took photo's at a wedding last week and when I turned on my camera to view them all was fine. I have an external card reader I use to put photo's on my PC. So I put the memory stick in the card reader and the photo's came up but it wouldnt let me save them to my computer, so I took the memory stick out and put it back in the camera and when I switched on the camera I got a message saying Format Error and the screen is blue and I cant access my photo's now either on the camera or the card reader, is there anyway I can get my photo's as they have sentimental value to me
