I was facing the error C:31:22 , I tried to fix the black roller with a screw driver but it didnt help, then i smaked it twice turning it upside down but it also didnt help, finally i removed the battery and hit the camera on a flat service twice, the error vanished but another error C:31:23 came, I cleaned the head and the cam became serviceable. I think these errors come if the camera is not used for long time , i am playing it continously , let see if the error comes again or not. :)

this is unbelievable, the unit has filmed many a Ice hockey game, and been to the play many times. I thought that the unit had finally succumbed to a lot of wear. Then i read this sight and wow it works as well as ever. Hope the slap lasts for a bit.

The quick fix works precisely as noted by several previous respondents. I am just sorry I didn't have access to this web site when the camcorder stopped functioning during our vacation. Oh well, next time ...

oh my god! MY camerea has been out of comission for a YEAR! and i whacked the battery (NOT THE CAMERA) with my hand and put the battery back on it it opened! THANKS SO MUCH YOU GUYS this really works! from a guy in Merced, CA

I just finished looking for the cure to solve this issue! I removed the battery and i whacked the battery against a solid piece of wood several times then i put the battery back into the camera and.... Hot spit it worked unbelieveable is all i can say! hope it can help someone else it worked for me.

It worked! I was surpised after 3 whacks with my hand, the camcorder started playing again. Thanks!
