DSC-P100 problems

Jon Posted Aug 09, 2007

I have two problems with my DSC-P100.

Some time ago the Manual mode stopped working properly. If I try to take a picture in Manual, it takes a ridiculously long exposure (about 30 seconds) regardless of light levels, and then spends another 30 seconds processing the image, which always comes out as a blank, white, empty screen. The other modes (program, scene, movie, etc.) all seem to work fine. Problem 2 just started. The think won't stay shut off. If I press the button to turn it off, the screen goes dark and the lens collapses into the body normally, but the camera immediately re-extends the lens and turns itself on. Any thoughts on either problem?
