The unit will not record. The tape moves but there is no image on the view finder or the LCD and the tape just record blank, the sound records fine

When I turn the unit on to record the viewfinder displays nothing but black. Playback work fine and if I press record the tape advances and records the sounds. I appears that the CCD is not transmitting any image to the unit. Any suggestions?
