This way, when all is said and done, if you press RESET on your remote you will return to your preferred settings rather than the terrible ones set by the factory.
TO ACCESS THE SERVICE MENU
1) Turn the volume on your TV down. Not all the way off, but enough so that you won't be bothered by the loudness of any sound that should come out of your set. You will not have another chance to adjust the volume after you get started. Don't hit the MUTE button. You'll need that for the next step.
2) Hit the MUTE button on your TV remote and release. "MUTE" should appear on your screen.
3) Push and hold the MUTE button on the remote again. There should be nothing on your screen at this point.
4) While still holding the MUTE button on the remote, hit the MENU button on your TV's front panel (not the remote). A small "S" should appear on your screen. Let go of all buttons.
5) Press and hold the RECALL button on your remote.
6) While still holding the RECALL button, press the MENU button on the TV's front panel again. A small "D" should appear on your screen. Let go of all buttons.
7) Press the MENU button on the front panel again. Your TV should now display your first calibration setting. The first one mine displays says:

Your first setting may vary. A long binary number will follow it.
Congratulations. You have just entered your TV's hidden service menu, a place where only qualified service technicians are supposed to go. DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING! Changing any setting without knowing how to set it back where it started will cause serious havoc with your TV.
You have two controls at this point: The CHANNEL Up/Down buttons on your remote will move you from one setting to the next. The VOLUME Up/Down buttons on the remote will change the value of the setting you are on. Don’t mix them up!
Don't push any buttons other than CHANNEL or VOLUME. Lord only knows what they'll do.
If you need to exit the service menu, the only way to do it is to hit the POWER button. When you turn the TV back on, you will be back to normal working operation, but any settings you have changed will be in full effect.

Short s23 and s24 briefly, which will put the set into service mode. Option 1 should read 010 this applies only to the 25FL and 29FL. Option 2 should be 001 for sets with text and 004 for sets without text
