sony videoscope gone dark

E. Akers Posted Aug 02, 2007

We have a sony videoscope xbr, and its picture has suddenly gone very very dark (even though all of the colors are there) but the picture's fine in freeze mode. Please help!!

Hi. We have a sony videoscope xbr tv, and it has been working fine for years and years, and now all of a sudden, after working fine earlier in the day, the picture is very very dark. All of the colors (red, green, blue) are there, it's just that there's no white, making it impossible to watch. The strange thing is that when we freeze the picture, the color is perfect. It's also back to normal when we use the picture in picture mode, so I'm pretty sure that all of the guns/lamps are working fine, and that it's some kind of software problem. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix or reset it? Thanks in advance!!

hi, i read about your videoscope ploblem, its very simple to resolve, the pictures are dark is the screem voltage very low, in this set the normal voltage is 850 volt per tube screem, theres a resistor voltage divider in the HV board dead, theres two resistors 470k and 680k the juntion of this resistors feed the tree screem trim pots of the tubes.....
