Its not clear if you are actually meaning that the set comes on (screen lights up) but you just cannot see any images on the screen, that is taking it you have an aerial plugged into it in the first place! however if you have got a VCR or anything else coupled into its front mounted sockets, you have to press the AV button on the remote control to switch the TV onto these sockets to view whatever you have coupled into them.
