Re: JVC service or questions

Bridget Staggs Posted Jul 31, 2007, in response to:Stacy Sample

My family had bought a JVC AV-27920 a couple years ago.. it has been a great TV until today. When I turn my Tv on it turns of within a few seconds, then a red light flashed on the front of the tv. which is the on timer light. We have the manual to it and it says nothing about fixing this, we have tried unplugging it, and plugging it back in, and leaving it unplugged for hours, none of this works. When I turn it on, I dont even get enough time to get to the menu, or even see any of the color come in, turns off that fast. Do you know how I could fix this?

The problem you mention is caused by the TV's power unit having shut down for safety reasons because a fault has been detected somewhere in the circuitry, and in your model notoriously always around the vertical scan components, not really expensive parts but the cost entirely dependant on the labor charges of wherever you go for service.
