If the cable guide banner is bright and clear , take the cable box back to nearest cable provider store/dealer and request replacement box. It should be free (if its time warner anyway). You can also try holding down the Power button on the cable box to re-boot it; lastly try twisting F-Pin coaxial connectors on back of cable box while watching for change in picture. Good Luck!
