Is it worth repairing this camera!

Hi, I have a Sony DSC P31 camera since 4 years. Suddenly one fine day the camera is not switching on. Even with fully charged batteries no change. I am wondering is it worth while spending $50 towards AC adapter, just to try my luck. Has someone got such experience with this product. My bad luck, I can't buy another Sony camera to use the memory stick - mine is old type, not Duo or Pro!
