This camcorder is in mint condition. However, last week it stopped working altogether. My Hi8 tape is still stuck in the camcorder. No other functions are possible. Only white light is visible in the viewfinder.

Please help me to fix the problem. Does anyone know where repairs instruction manual can be acquired? I heard the old ICs and transistors tend to dry up and therefore the problem. Where can these be bought and are there any substitutes if the original parts are difficult to get hold of? PLEASE HELP.
