A flashing timer light on "ANY" JVC TV indicates that the power unit has shut down into its standby (safety) mode because a fault has been detected. (That is if you are meaning the TV shuts off)

yep it does. It powers up, then shuts right off and the light on the front (on timer) flashes, as it is right now.
