Is this a setting problem or an internal malfunction?

I have an LT-32X576 and it was giving me problems since day one. It wouldn't give me any sound or picture unless I turned it off and on maybe about 40 times. When I finally got it to work, it was fine, but every time the cable box is turned off, it's the same problem. I dealt with it by always leaving the cable box on, and I was fine. Last week a rain storm disrupted the cable (the LCD was off at the time), and now there is no picture or sound and I have been trying to get it working for 4 days... Please help!
