Sd card Compatability

I have purchased A panasonic LX-97 Portable DVD player. It has an SD card slot. I have purchased a 2gb sd card also make transcend. the problem is it does not recognise the contents of the cards. i have transfered the photos from my computer into the card. they cannot be read. i have photos taken from nikon DSLR with Compact flash card. I have inserted the same sd card in panasonic digicam and only those photos are visible in the dvd player. can someone tell me how i view any photos loaded in the sd card on my portable player. i have found out that photos taken only with panasonc cameras are visible . what do i do? somebody give me solution.
