JVC convergence problem

Help with JVC convergence issue

I need some advice. I attempted to replace the two STK392-110 chips on th econvergence board. Although I first removed the back cover only to realize it was much more accessible from the front. Question one is concerning the booby trap. I replaced all bock covers but I am not sure how this booby trap works. Would it cause any problems or does it just not let you power up if back cover is not present? Question two; Unfortunately I am now not getting any picture and a strange audio sound like a heartbeat coming from the set. Granted I am a novice at soldering but tried to insure none of the solder touched between pins. I did try to go back and clean it up better but still with same results. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. thanks!!

Did you ever get anywhere with your big screen? I was working on my brother in laws over the weekend and replaced the stk's but still getting the heartbeat problem. I know that they had dissasembled the tv to get it up the stairs so I was curious about the booby trap you mentioned. Thanks Matt
