This noramlly happens when the disk is inserted incorrectly (upside down,dirty,scratched) try a new cd and see if that fixes the problem if not go on to jvcmobile.co.uk and click on "manuals" on the left, enter the model number and browse the problems pages i did and it worked for me !!!
