Error Code C:31:22

Stacy, My camcorder will not reset as per the owners manual and gives me either a C:31:22 or C:31:23 code and chimes when I power it on and try to insert a cassette. What does the code mean ? Can I fix this myself or do I have to send it to Sony. Thx
