Sony receiver going to protect mode

The early message is correct. it has to do with wires touching or a short. My mom's receiver had the same issue. I noticed a speaker shorting and I found where her dog had chewed through one of the speaker wires. I fixed the cable. Just called her and it hasn't gone to protect mode since. If you are still having an issue, I would suggest buying new cable.
