Thanks for the great advice! The sound but no picture problem started about a month ago and the frequency of the problem has continually got worse to the point the picture was going black every 2-3 minutes for 10 second durations. This week I was about to begin the search for a replacement TV. As a last hope, I searched the internet and came across your solution. I followed your steps and to my amazement the problem is now history. Although my Sony Trinitron is Model KV-32S12(1995), your steps worked perfectly. Again thanks for the advice!
