Advice needed.

It started when I had to fiddle with the power cord jack on the camera to get it to charge, then it quit turning on. The charge light does not come on when i plug it in with or without the battery installed. when I open the tape door, the power tape ejector does not respond. i checked the battery and it does have a charge, so I opened the camera and re soldered the pins for the internal charger jack. I then put the volt meter up to some of the pins in the connector that connects the 'battery,charger,firewire, and light switch' circuit board to the main board and i was getting some power through. So i checked all the connections and put it back together, but it still doesn't work and i am at the end of my knowledge of cameras basically. But before I go get ripped off at Bestbuy I'd like to hear if anybody else has an idea or solution for me. thank you
