This very same thing just happened to ours! However it will not power back on whatsoever with either the factory remote, the cable remote or the front panel button. I think a component failed on the power supply or the main logic board. Question is . . . what component & at what cost? Anyone out there care to say what it is?? Please?!?

I found that the TV input source needs some support. If you turn the TV on and push up on under the TV just below the inputs behind the TV the sound will be eliminated. I placed a piece of rubber underneath, and you can use anything that keeps pressure to support that area.

Yes, this keeps happening to me. my tv will just randomly shut off. What i did was unplug it, replug it then hit the power button twice. Wait 2 minutes then it should be on again, its really weird but it works for me. try that out

Did you ever get any response or resolution to this problem? My 32" RCA ColorTrak Plus just did the exact same thing to us a couple days ago, it just went black and squeeling in the middle of the show and we haven't had a picture since.
