Sony KP-46S55 picture blinks on and off every sec

My Sony KP-46S55 picture blinks on and off once every sec. I have good sound and a good picture when it is on. Also if the tv is tuned to a channel with snow or a blue screen the picture does not blink. Every once in a while if it is tuned to a screen that has a constant image it does not blink for a while. Any help would be great.
