DVD Player (compact component system) suddenly only playing in black and white. No cord change. Tried different cords, but no change.

We have a CA-MXJD5 Compact Component System (DVD player integrated into stereo system). We have been successfully playing DVDs with our LG Plasma TV but recently had the TV wall mounted. We obviously had to disconnect the cords to wall mount, but then reconnected the cords when the TV was ready. We are 90% sure that we had played a DVD successfully since reconnecting the cords. Do you have any suggestions of what might be the problem? A service centre suggested it might be a laser problem, but it still plays something, just not colour. We have tried different cords. Thanks
