Every time I turn it on it will turn off in seconds saying "PROTECT" on the screen. What the hell is that!?

It's nothing to do with to much hooked up to it because I'll do it with no speakers hooked up to it at all and still get the "PROTECT" diplay on the screen. Should I take it in to get fixed or does someone have some ideas whats going on over here?
