Can it be fixed?

I am having similar issues with my Sony - I was told by a colleague that it was the CCD. At this point I can't even take a single picture. Whether i am looking through the finder or viewing on the LCD, it looks like a really bad painting. Very disappointed as I paid over $1000 for this camera, plus an external lens. Is Sony ever going to take responsibility for this know issue?
