Mp3/mp4 players

Hello, I recently bought a mp3/mp4 player and it was working just fine and when i got up this morning i tried to listen to the music i had downloaded and it said disc error. It also powers itself on and off? What can i do to fix it? in te settings under firmware version it says 2006/10/30 9.0.50 2007/01/01 CTW 500_V50 Thank you
