Black LCD while in picture Mode and Video Mode Sony DSC-P5

The LCD is black when in picture mode and video mode. All other menus work. even the menus in the picture mode and video mode so i believe that it is a lens problem. I was taking pictures, put the camera in my pocket and took it out back and the damage was done. Does anyone have a fix, would really be appreciated. ( i already took the camera down to pieces and disconnected the ribbon to the Lens unit itseld and reassembled and still comes up with the black sceen and takes black pictures. Thanks Dave
