JVC GR-D Lens cap error

Andrew Evans Posted May 09, 2007

What i did to get rid of the lens cap error

Hi, i just got the camera as a present from my mother and when i tried to get it to work got the lens cap error. I had a look on this and many other forums but there wasn't alot of info on how to sort it. i decided to try a very non technical approach and just turned the camera to 'M' so that the lens warning came up and then opened up the load area for the tape and gave it several good blows! It seems to have worked for the time being but time will tell if it continues to work. If it all goes wrong again (which i suspect it will)i'll post a thread on here.Good luck

You dont mention what "D" number applies to your model, and although there are some models with three numerals after the D which can (albeit for a short time) respond in a fashion to your "non technical" remedy, the majority of models with two numerals dont, however they are applicable for a special repair programme which offers a "free" repair. Info can only be sent to a DIRECT e-mail address.
