I Have a Newtone model IC-502 series intercom system

I Have a Newtone model IC-502 series intercom system that is about 12 years old. There is an outside remote control model: IS-519 that I had to replace 2 years ago. It's no longer working. There is power going to the unit, but there is no response from any of the control buttons. The connections and the visual inspection of the circuit board looks ok. Any suggestions on where I might begin to debug?
