i had the same issue, and instead of fixing part of the convergence board, i would suggest ordering a new convergence board altogether: part #SSB-5068A or SSB-5068A-R. This should replace all issues w/ that board. Best part is, just plug in all the wires and you're good to go. The part costs around $140, but much better than dealing w/ soldering/desoldering

I just took out my convergence board out because my green looked squished from the top, no reset or service menu will fix it. So I'll probably visit one of those service centers and see whether they can replace the IC for me. I don't have much confidence in my ability to solder stuff. Once you opened the front panel, it's pretty easy to see the board itself. tried to post the pictures, but the msg is blocked.
