Problem with Chevy Tahoe CD changer

Initializing CD message Chevy Tahoe.

My CD player/changer gives me the message " Initializing". It is a GM 6 disc unit in a 2004 Chevy Tahoe. It will not play. Just sits there. I get the message when I turn the ignition on. Turning the unit on and off with the power knob yields no message. The radio works.

My CD changer started to work afer several days. Possibly road bumps etc led to it working. Never disconnected the battery etc.

We are experiencing the same problem, along with partial unit lighting failure. We had had 2 new units installed and still have the same issue. Did you get any resolution to this? If so, please share! Thanks DG
