JVC AV48WP30

Tracy Posted Apr 20, 2007

The middle of the top and bottom of the screen on JVC AV48WP30 is pinched, looking sort of like a bow-tie. Sort of a convergence problem, but can't move the green (+) symbol.

The picture on the screen looks something like this (I hope this works out right): OOooo.....oooOO OOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOO OO°°°°˙˙˙˙˙°°°°OO I can stretch the red and blue using the convergence so that the screen is close to correct, but it's still about an inch on the top and bottom away from being correct. I can't move the green at all so the green picture remains really pinched. It popped in and out of normal a couple of times, but now it is stuck in this "bow-tie" mode. Is this something that a novice can fix? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You should not try to repair this set yourself. You can damage the convergence output ics, if they are not already bad. The technician will also have the proper equipment to align it correctly.
