The mini USB slot is only for photo upload. For video, you need to use a FireWire cable. Since my motherboard did not come with FireWire, I had to buy a PCI FireWire card from Radio Shack (costs me $19.99) to plug into my motherboard. Make sure you get the FireWire cable that is mini on one side for the camcorder and regular or mini on the side that goes into your computer (some PC has mini FireWire, others has regular FireWire, and some has both.)
