To repair Sony DCR-PC9 sound output (speaker and headphone jack) is it best to replace the Switch Block, Control FK-1770 (Part number: A7096840A also called 147659411)?

We are a public foundation and purchased a DCR-PC9 Digital Video Camera Recorder 01/06/2001 Changi Airport, Singapore There is no sound output from the speaker or headphones. But if we record on our camera and play the cassette on another camera, there is recorded sound. A local service center has said that the sound output on our camera is not working due to part: Switch Block, Control FK-1770 The technician said it is the yellow ribbon on the interior back side of the camera.
