If you have removed both sources of power for about ten minutes, then reinstalled the battery and the same thing happens it could suggest that an internal fuse has blown for some reason. You cannot do anything else external to help rectify the situation other than whats been mentioned, although it would have been useful if you could have measured the actual battery voltage, as the fact a light comes on doesnt automatically mean that there is sufficient voltage to operate any camcorder function. (ie: the light can be on at a voltage well below whats required for operation)
