Is it possible to restore the functional operation of my camcorder? Or should I toss it on the heap of other modern short lived eletronics products?

Hi, I have owned 3 modern camcorders and several 8 mm movie cameras.The movie cameras worked well for years. The camcorders seem to fail just about the time I am getting them wired. That said I have a prblem with my current JVC and that is a message that says operation cancelled due to condensation. I realise many others have this problem due to an over sensitive condensation sensor. I have heard you can by pass this sensor but it requires sophisticated electronic repair skills which I unfortunately do not possess. Also can the heads be cleaned and de magnetised as this is also plaguing the operation? Can you reccommend a solution to my problem
