It turned out to be a production error. Inside the ccd chip, after a while the gold connections loosen, result is that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Bad nezs is that it will get worse and after a while the camera can't record at all, playback is no problem. JVC has admit the problem, here in Belgium I turned in my camera and it got fixed for free even outside the warranty period Frank
