Problem is LDC on Cybershot

Can you tell me what might be wrong with my Sony Cybershot DSC-W50 camera. I can still take pictures, but cannot view anything through the screen. The screen just show all white. I purchased this last May from Circuit City and they said I need to send it to Sony for repair. Any help you can give me with this would be appreciated.
