Can my camera image pickup compoment be replace and how much would it cast. Is it a compent that I could replace myself?

The camera was working fine until I dropped it. Now, when viewing to take pictures the LCD screen image flickers and has horizontal lines and these lines show up in the captured image. When in the review mode, pictures taken pior, are able to be viewed using the LCD display screen with out any distortion. I believe I have a problem with the image capturing component. Can this be repaired?
