JVC all messed up. Model # GR-DV800U. About 3 years old. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a JVC that worked well since I bought it. About a week ago it started acting up. Whenever I turned it on, whether Record or Play, I got a message that said "EO3 Unit in Safeguard Mode...Eject and Reinsert Tape". Well I tried that for about 2 or 3 days nonstop. I even went to RadioShack but they were no help. I have tried nearly EVERYTHING!! Please help!! I desperately need it working before Friday! Thanks in advance!! Violet.
