flash

I took a picture today and heard a pop noise, and then a bad smell came of my camera, i have the sony cyber shot dsc-p8. I then noticed the flash broke. I used a new memory card a sandisk memory stick pro magicgate 512. I was wondering if this had anything to do with the flash breaking. Is the flash replacable and how much would it cost....thank u
