JVC I Art projection TV AV56WP74

Jeff Allen Posted Mar 13, 2007

I've had this TV for 3 years and the red image went way out and you cannot adjust (Auto or manuel). How many complaints have you heard about and is JVC paying for them?

This is a common problem with just about all crt projection tv's. Usually it's because of the amount of heat the convergence IC's make. There are two IC's that control the horizontal and vertical convergence. If you know how to solder, it's a relatively easy/inexpensive fix. Most repair shops will either order the two chips and a few extra parts and just replace them, or they will order the whole board (which usually costs way too much). You can probably find the two IC's for ~$25 total. Look into it if you have a projection crt television.

We have just had this same problem happen to our TV this same make and model! Very upset! We just were watching it then this happened tried auto and manual options to remedy this problem but to no avail. Another site mentioned something about burnt pins. Not sure what this means they didnt explain in full detail. If anyone can help us please do!! THANKS!!!!
