I have an Acer notebook with windows xp service pack 2 and my machine do not have a fire wire but gs400 have the option for send the video throw fire wire or USB.

You can select in the menu if you want to sent the video using the fire wire or USB,with the same result, the video is awesome in this machine and the machine have a tons of features for everyone who want to make a home video with professional look, I use Sony Vegas for editing, if someone want to see my videos feel free for email me.
