I had the same problem 3 year ago and had it fixed. It had to do with the Power Regulator and Power Supply. Apparently there is a surge protector built inside the power supply that went bad and kept on killing the power...reason for it turning on the right off before a picture would appear. I repaired it with a new power supply and regulator in total costing $341 to repair. Now today it just started again by shutting off periodically during the day. So don't know if it was worth fixing for only 3 years of use.
