Home | First message in thread | Previous messageyour firmware appears to be hacked to show an incorrect value (to make it sound better than it is) as a result you have been trying to fill it. as you approach the ACTUAL storage capacity it will work fine. after you reach the true capacity the player will let you try to fill up to the fake capacity but when doing to the whole system goes a little mad and the file allocation table doesnt know what to do with it all.. you end up with file which have no place to go so they get messed up and you can no longer do anything with them. try a google search for MP3 player utilities tool which can be used to reformat the player to show its true capacity and avoid it ever happening again.

I had the same problem with my MP4 player. I turned it off while it was playing, when I turned it back on it started to give me the same "disk error" all the time. Searching here and there I came up with this solution, I hope it works for you also! Connect the player to the computer. Next, click on start, then click on 'run'. In the box, type 'cmd', then click OK. Now type cd\ and then hit 'enter'. Now type format/fs:fat and the letter assigned to your MP4 and then hit enter. (Example: format/fs:fat e:) It will ask you if you want to format, so say yes. In the middle of the process, it will ask you something about clusters, so say yes again. In the end, your MP4 should work. However, all your files will be deleted, so you will have to put them all back. Like I said, it did work for me, I hope it does for you also. how do i fix a disk error to get songs the disk error doesn't let me get any songs Thanx a LOT! It's solved my problem, this is a very good solution! :) Hi, have the same problem : disk error. Question : when you format the player all your files wil be deleted, does this include the files necessary to make the player work? Or only the things (songs) i have put on in? when i enter format/fs:fat i then put G (file drive)so it says format/fs:fat g but when i press enter it says invalid drive specification.please help |
