Hi Michael My JVC 9000 does exactly the same. When I lived in the U.K I phoned my local JVC dealer who gave me the fix over the phone but I can't for the life of me remember what he told me. The instruction book says to remove the battery and push the RESET button. I did this but to no avail. If anyone can help, please feel free to help Dave
