Ric - This model of camcorder is extremely capable of showing / having a particular symptom BUT being caused by a range of different things and this due to its complex circuitry, about the only thing that an owner can do is to reset the logic circuits by the well known battery out / then reinstall procedure, if no change takes place when this is done then its definitely a service test bench job, that is of the more advanced nature!!
