JVC GR-D72U battery dies when AC adapter is plugged into camera, help?

JVC GR-D72U battery stops when plugged in

My battery died and my AC adapter wouldn't run the camera. I bought a new battery and the camera worked. When the battery was getting low, I plugged in the AC adapter and my battery died again. I think the AC adapter could be bad. Have you seen this problem? I'm thinking I should replace the AC Adapter and get a new battery? If it doesn't work I'm out another $50.00 for a battery and I don't know how much for an AC adapter. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Could it be an internal problem with the camera? Or do you think it is just the AC Adapter?

It would appear that the problem is entirely caused by your power unit being faulty, so you should try verifying this by connecting a small 12 volt bulb across the round power plug, that is of course unless you have a simple test meter to hand. The battery you have just purchased will likely be perfectly OK, and also possibly the original! so you can forget about purchasing another. PS: A faulty connection on the contacts of camcorders power input socket could also be responsible for the problem but its highly unlikely, however this will be verified by the PU output test, as if it does show voltage is present then it points at the socket possibly being faulty. Whats mentioned is the most likely causes but not all. (Click on my link and send e-mail address for further "DIRECT" e-mail info)
