JVC GR-DVP3U

Hello, I've got a JVC GR-DVP3U that gives either error 03 or 06 and won't release the DV tape. The error says to detach and reattach the battery, but that doesn't seem to help, even with a fresh one. Any thoughts? Thanks, Tom
